
ESG/Sustainability ratings and indices
In addition to financial indicators, sustainability criteria are increasingly considered for investment decisions. Analyses and ratings by agencies specializing in sustainability and index providers offer guidance and orientation.

CDP
Once a year, the non-profit organization CDP surveys and evaluates critical environmental data disclosed by companies, representing two-thirds of global market capitalization, from 130 countries.
In February 2025, RBI received a B which is in the Management band. This is the same as the Europe regional average of B, and the same as the financial services sector average of B. Thanks to its environmental ambition, ESG Governance, and risk management processes, RBI shows continuous commitment to climate protection and transparency.

ISS ESG
ISS ESG evaluates a company’s social and ecological performance in the context of corporate ratings by applying over 100 sector-specific social and environmental criteria. ISS ESG ensures that the ratings are kept up to date through regular update cycles. In order to make the evaluations transparent, ISS ESG publishes not only criteria and processes, but also important rating results. RBI’s sustainability rating was confirmed at level “C+” in September 2024, which corresponds to “Prime Status”.

MSCI ESG rating
In the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment (Report update: October 2024) RBI received a rating of A (on a scale of AAA-CCC) in the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment.

Sustainalytics
As of September 2023, Sustainalytics assessed RBI as being at low risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors. In ranking we were in 24 out of 263 companies in the diversified banks subindustry. (Next update in spring 2025)

FTSE4Good
Raiffeisen Bank International has been a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series since 2015. The index series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products. (Last index review: October 2024)

S&P
The ESG Score of Raiffeisen Bank International AG is 56 out of 100. The score is most heavily weighted to Governance & Economic Dimension, followed by Social Dimension and finally Environmental Dimension. S&P Global has selected the most relevant criteria in each dimension based on their weight in the assessment and their current or expected significance for the industry.
Moody's ESG solutions
Moody’s ESG solutions’ ESG Assessment for RBI is ‘Robust’ with an Overall ESG Score of 50/100, which is higher than the average score for the Retail & Specialized Banks in Europe. (as of April 2023 – no further updates will be made)
