Your gateway to efficient financing: RBI shopping line

Our RBI Shopping Line solution has seen strong demand, closing several facilities for various corporate customers. It provides long-term financing solutions for buyers of capital and investment goods, combining deliveries from various suppliers in one facility.

Discover a flexible loan product with RBI Shopping Line: It is not tied to one specific supply contract like this is the case with buyer’s credits covered by Export Credit Agencies.Therefore, this solution enables quick execution. Planned purchases in the future can also be considered for financing. 

The product offers attractive financing terms and conditions due to an up to 98 per cent cover from OeKB, the Austrian Export Credit Agency. In addition, OeKB also provides funding for RBI Shopping Lines.

The Success Story

Since launching our Shopping Line solution, we were able to close several facilities for various corporate and institutional customers. Especially EPC contractors and construction companies that purchase various equipment from Austria and other countries are using RBI Shopping Lines for a fast execution of their projects. 

One of them being Mota-Engil Group, Portugal’s largest EPC contractor. Other companies which require equipment for their own production capacities have been using this type of financing in the past as well. Furthermore, we have closed Shopping Lines with several financial institutions in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. As borrowers in a Shopping Line structure, financial institutions benefit from long-term funding to refinance loans they make available for their local customers. Due to the quick implementation, one of our customers even concluded its third Shopping Line at the end of last year.

In cooperation with OeKB, the Austrian Export Credit Agency, and the official Austrian Trade Promotion Organization, RBI has identified industry sectors and countries to actively promote the Shopping Lines. 

Through our special and long-standing cooperation with OeKB in all kinds of export finance products and the Austrian Trade Commissions on-site, we can offer our customers not only the best financing know-how, but also contacts to suitable Austrian suppliers.

A Brief Overview

  • Shopping Lines are long-term financing solutions for buyers of capital and investment goods. 
  • Financing of deliveries from various suppliers can be combined in one Shopping Line facility. 
  • It is made available to refinance purchases which have been concluded in the last 24 months as well as for future supplies within the next two years. At least 50 per cent of the loan amount are expected to be used to finance purchases from Austria. 
  • Not only corporates but also financial institutions financing the imports of their (local) customers are eligible for an RBI Shopping Line.
